Happy New Year!!
The Fish Family spent a nice New Year holiday at home. Matt, Amanda, Case, and Lauren all came over to ring in the new year. We had a great celebration well into New Year's Day. After a less-than-restful night we celebrated LJ's third birthday. He spent a cozy day taking advantage of his birthday boy status. We also celebrate Emi's 3-week birthday. Hard to believe it has already been 3 whole weeks!! Later in the day we went to the Hilton's to watch the Rose Bowl. Despite a disappointing loss to USC we had a great day!!

Emi's First Bath!
Emi got her first real bath today! Her belly button is all dried out and cute as a "button" (pun intended). She wasn't so sure about it at first but really enjoyed the water once she got used to the idea. She did very well until she had to get out into the cold air. She was happy once again after being wrapped up in her towel. So many firsts!!!

Emilia's First Christmas!
Emilia celebrated her first Christmas at home with mommy, daddy, and big brother LJ. She slept through the morning but graced us with her bright eyes for a couple of hours in the afternoon. She's awake more and more everyday! We took a walk in the sunshine...which we haven't seen in quite a while! Emi got some cute clothes from aunt Lu; some cute clothes, a teddy bear, and washcloths from Mammaw and Pappaw, a great toy and book from Grammi, and lots of love a kisses from her parents!
P.S. I have figured out some cool photo editing so now you'll see lots of creative pictures just like this first one...

Welcome Emilia Lynn!!
We are now proud parents! Emilia Lynn Fish was born Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 5:04am. She just couldn't wait to join the world! I was admitted to the hospital at 8:00 pm on Wednesday evening to get ready for an induction on Thursday morning. They started cervidil at about 10:30pm and gave me some sleeping pills so that I could rest-up for the big day. The nurse said I was about 1 cm dilated when she checked me at that time. I got a few minutes of sleep before some serious contractions started. I eventually asked the nurse to help with the pain (despite wanting to go naturally) because I knew I would never make it with the intensity of the contractions. When she checked me at that point (about 4:15 am) she said that I was completely dilated and called in another nurse to double check. No pain meds needed. She called the doctor and I quickly called Brian (who had gone home to sleep for the night). He made it in record-time to the hospital and arrived 11 minutes before our little girl was born. The doctor made it about 25 minutes before she was born. I pushed for about 10 minutes and there she was...a beautiful 5 lb. 9 oz. baby girl!! She was 18 1/2 inches long with a full head of dark brown hair!! We couldn't be happier than we are with our little bundle. We came home Friday afternoon and she is doing very well. She is beginning to eat better and hopefully we won't stay with our days and nights mixed up for very long! Thanks so much to all of our friends and family who supported us so much through the pregnancy. Emilia cannot wait to meet all of you!!
