The new sibiling

We had our mid-way ultrasound today and everything looks great! I am 21 weeks 3 days and the measurements were all averaging about 22 weeks or so. The little nugget is growing well and the heart beat was 164 today. To answer everyone's question: No, we didn't find out gender this time either!! Right now it's just a healthy little baby who is growing and developing on track. The arms and hands were up over the face almost the whole time so it was hard to get a good picture. She took some 4D but didn't get any of the face as you can see. She labeled them all so they are really easy to identify too!

Happenings in the Fish house...

First things first...it's Emilia's half birthday today. She's 18 months old!! To celebrate her being such a big girl she got a new kitchen set (well it's new to us anyway). She loves it and has been storing all kinds of stuff in it. We just have to watch out because she has put her cup of milk in her play refrigerator a couple of times. We better make sure that's not in there for very long...that wouldn't be a good surprise!

We've also been continuing the renovation project in the kitchen. It's almost done now...thank goodness! We just got our new appliances delivered today (just in time for mommy's half-birthday)!! Of course nothing can be easy and apparently we maxed out the size of the refrigerator that will fit into our house. It fits great in the kitchen, but they had to take off the front door and then go through the living room and dining room to get it to the kitchen. Oh well, they're in! We need to install the new microwave because the delivery guys didn't do that one, but that shouldn't take that long (famous last words I suppose). They look fantastic and make the kitchen look totally updated!

The only thing left to do is place the butcher block section of the counter and the back splashes. It's all assembled in the garage and just needs to be finished. Here are some pictures of what it looks like now:

Emilia's new playset

Brian put up Emilia's playset last weekend. Fabian came over to help and brought his daughter, Annette! She and Emilia got along very well and played all day!

Emilia LOVES her new slide and swings, and we play on them just about everyday. Unfortunately, we've had to dodge the rain for the past week to get much use out of it, but it's worth it.

Yes, that is dinner and dirt all over her face. She was filthy by the end of the day...just the way a kid should be in the summer!

Baby Fish...The Sequel

Emilia is going to be a big sister!! We're expecting another baby in mid-November!! We're super excited and can't wait for another angel to grace us with it's presence! Having Emilia has been so amazing that we cannot even fathom how much joy a second baby will bring to our lives!! Just like with Emilia we will wait to find out the gender until delivery day! Hopefully I am blessed with another quick labor and delivery!!!

We had this ultrasound done at 6 weeks 5 days and the baby was measuring a little over 7 weeks.
Today we had our nuchal translucency ultrasound done. The baby is still measuring a couple of days ahead and was SUPER active. The ultrasound tech had a difficult time getting some measurements because it wouldn't hold still. The radiologist checked everything and said it looks great but we won't get the blood results back for about 8-10 days so that will give us a better picture of the health so far. The heart rate was 170 and we saw the arms, feet, face, brain, spine, nasal bone, etc!!

Here's a crown-to-rump measurement from the back.

Here is a great face picture. You can see the eyes really well...a little bit like an alien-but only for now!

Here's a great picture of the profile!!

Emilia cleaning

Emilia's new favorite thing to do is to help me with the cleaning. If I'm dusting she needs a Swiffer too. Whenever she sees the vacuum she wants to run it. She's so funny and she'll actually do a pretty good job when she's focused!! She also loves to help with the laundry...she'll put clothes from the washer into the dryer and hand me clothes out of the baskets to fold!! What a helper!!

Here she is vacuuming for me. If you listen closely you can hear her making some vacuum noises and then she walks over to push the button to retract the cord.

Some random Emilia stuff

I just felt like I needed to post some more pictures of Emilia. She's just so darn cute!!!

This is Emilia finishing her bowl of grapefruit sections. She realized that if she tipped up the bowl she could drink the juice just like a cup!

This is her just before she hit the links!

She loves playing with the shoes by the door. She's even trying to put her own shoes on now (in addition to everyone else's)..she's almost there!

Here she is carrying her absolutely favorite toy lately. This is Violet. Mammaw and Pappaw got it for her for Christmas this year. It's programmed to incorporate her name and favorite things into it's repertoire of sayings. For example, "Me and my friend, Emilia..." Violet comes EVERYWHERE with us!

more kitchen...

We are making some progress on the kitchen front. Brian has installed the new upper and lower cabinets. He has also built the drawer for lower cabinet and the plate rack for the upper....which he still needs to install. He's still working on the upper cabinet wine rack. In the meantime we are finishing the drywall, staining the installed cabinets, and getting ready for paint.

However, the best part is the trash/recycling drawer. Who would have thought something so simple could make such a big difference?!?!
