Old Timers

Way back in mid-September we attended HP's annual OTC dinner and banquet. 

This year, since Brian and JT happen to have the same exact suit from Chuck's wedding, they dressed alike...

 

...and came up with a short comedy routine. Oh geez!

Family Fun!

Now that summer is over (and I have officially dropped the ball on posting all of our adventures) here is a little compilation of all the fun we had at the end of the summer and into the fall. Mimi has been into doing A LOT of crafts these days. She has a craft station set-up at the dining room table where she has markers, crayons, stamps and ink, and paints. She has also started cutting with scissors, which she just thinks is the cat's meow!  

Our big girl has also been doing a lot of helping in the kitchen, super fun and super messy!

 

The Luckett's fair was at the end of August and we went up for a bit on Sunday morning. It ended up being super hot, but everyone had a great time. Daddy helped Mimi make a sand art bottle (which lasted about 5 minutes after we got home). Mimi got to ride a horse, but she didn't like the guy walking along-side her. She got her face painted, too.

Nate had his first ice cream, the good stuff homemade by the Luckett's elementary PTA with local peaches and local strawberries...YUM!

 

We had a little Sicky McSickerson for a couple of days. Mimi got a stomach bug that sent us to the doctor's office twice in a week and to the pharmacy a couple of times, too. It was a rough several days for everyone but she's no worse for the wear now. I think the most difficult part was keeping the Nate away from Mimi so that we didn't end up with 2 sickies.

Ever-thoughtful daddy sent us an Edible Arrangements fruit bouquet to lift her spirits. Nate and Mimi finished it in no time!

We've been trying to run the quad in the limited space that we have in our little yard...and sometimes even in the vacant lot next door. Nate was longingly eyeing Mimi riding with daddy so he got his first ride...and then some!

Our dear friends, the Evans family, moved closer recently. They are now only about 25 minutes from us and we've been taking advantage of it! We met at Cox Farm fall festival where Mimi and their girls had a blast! They climbed hay bails, went down a bunch of slides, took a hay ride, and saw lots of baby animals (including 3-day-old baby piglets). We also visited their beautiful new home to celebrate Samantha's 3rd birthday where they played "pin the face on the pumpkin" and got to swing at a nearly unbreakable pinata!

Lulu came over to watch Nate and Brian and I took Mimi to her very first movie theater experience...Lion King in 3D! It was a perfect choice since she knows the movie forward and backward, but the glasses and 3D part added a little spice to it.

She sat so well and watched the entire movie, mostly because of the popcorn and candy I think!

 

Cait and Jeff tie the knot!!!

Our celebration of the bride was held at the Skolny residence! The happy couple's moms and aunts all chipped in to make the food and it was all so wonderful!

Laura had a great idea for a wine gift! Each bottle was chosen to signify an important milestone in their marriage (i.e. "Bighouse" was for their first fight). Super cute and oh so practical!

Cait was such a good sport letting us dress her up to walk around Old City Philly for the night. We played a rousing game of pub golf, but I'm pretty sure everyone lost track of score before the end of the night ;)

The magical weekend arrived, Labor Day weekend 2011. Rehearsal and dinner on Friday were a blast and we all got cozy at the hotel and settled in for a fairly early night (while the boys did quite the opposite).

7 am came early on Saturday morning when the hair and make-up ladies came. Here are the Skolny ladies eagerly waiting their turns...

This is why I have someone else do my hair. I would have ended up with a ponytail and a headband if it were left up to me.

Kramer was our designated Mammy...the only thing missing was a bedpost (could've used one). There were only about 100 eyelets per dress and we each had to be cinched in pretty tight so nothing popped out. Didn't need any boobage walking down the aisle in the Catholic church!

The flowers arrived right before the photographer. What a great job he did on them!

 

Then the time came to get Cait in her dress. Once she was in it was stunning!

The photographer reminded me of Rodney Dangerfield with a stutter...a little creepy. However, I'm quite sure that the pictures will turn out great!

We took the hotel shuttle to the church which was a fabulous idea because then Cait had a ton of room for her dress...no stuffing into a limo. Thanks to Cait's schedule we were nice and early and had some time to relax in the bride room and freshen up before the ceremony.

I kinda forgot about the camera for a while so the next pictures are of the cake and garter. Jeff talked a good game with this wind-up but he was very sweet.

We left fairly early on Sunday morning to get back to Hawley for the kids and Cait was still in bed. I was hoping to get a couple of shots in the morning, but they end here. I couldn't be more happy for Cait and Jeff and I wish them a lifetime of happiness (and some babies in the near future)!
