Oldtimers' Banquet 2008

Brian's Oldtimers' Banquet was held over the weekend. It was a great time to see all of the people that we haven't seen since last year...lots of questions about the baby! More importantly Brian was presented with two awards. The first was an award for developing a great idea to save the company quite a bit of money. The second was his first safety award for supervising over 10,000 man-hours without a lost-time injury or an incident! Congratulations Daddy-to-be!!

Baby Party!!

Mom, Lu, and Jaime threw us a baby party on Labor Day weekend! We had such a wonderful day. The weather was great, the rain held off, and the sun came out toward the end of the day. It was so great to see so many family members and friends who came to celebrate a baby we haven't even met yet!! We are so fortunate to have such wonderful people around us. I wonder if Baby Fish knows how many people are waiting to meet him/her!

We had a great set-up in the front yard under the tents...our favorite way to party!

Aunt Janet made our adorable (and quite delicious) cake complete with a tiger and cub that "ROAR"! She also made all of our cute centerpieces that will decorate the baby's nursery...plus all the handy stuff they were holding!

Everybody got a chance to take a guess about the baby's gender, weight, length, and birthday!!

Everyone was so generous and gave us so many wonderful gifts that we will need in a couple of months.

Brian got a couple of gifts just for daddies! This tool belt will help with all of the diaper changes he will be doing!

The proud grandmothers-to-be had a great day too!

Beginning the nursery...

We've started the nursery!! Painting is almost done-minus a few touch-ups here and there. The chair rail has to go up, too. We were trying to get it done before the shower so we have a place to put everything, but I don't think we'll make it. We have to schedule the new carpet to be installed sometime after the shower so it looks like we'll be moving some things twice.

Visit with the Shoops

We had a wonderful trip to San Antonio to see the Shoops. We had such a wonderful time sight seeing and going out on the boat. Brian tried his hand a water skiing but had much more fun with wake boarding (check out the video at the bottom of the pictures). Don showed us all around the job sight. Sierra is now 7 months old and cute as can be. Crawling around and cruising on furniture. Our little Baby Fish might be born on the same day!!

20 week appointments

Well, we are halfway done!! The belly has been steadily growing, and it's starting to become more and more real that we will have a new little life in our family in just a few short months. I also began to feel the baby move recently. The first movement I felt was at about 17 weeks, and then they were few and far between. Now I can feel it just about every night before I go to bed or when I am resting through the day. I did feel the first real kick while we were on the plane to San Antonio on Friday but nothing that intense again...not yet at least!

We went to see the doctor this morning, and she said that everything is going great!! More exciting, though, we went for our big 20 week ultrasound. No! We did not cave so the gender remains a mystery. It should make for an interesting pool at the shower so everyone place your bets. The radiologist said that the baby is measuring exactly where it should...right at 20 weeks and 4 days. The tech gave us loads of pictures including the 4-d ones. The baby was a bit uncooperative for the doctor and wouldn't turn for her to get the shots she needed. Only the beginning of following its own drummer I'm sure!
This one is sooooo cute of the baby's little foot. You can count the perfect amount of toes!!

Baby's little arm and hand

Such a sweet little face already and only halfway done!

Oh...no more pictures please! You'll have to set up an appointment with my agent.

It must be so peaceful in there!

Sweet little profile!

Little leg...the hip is toward the right side of the picture.

20 weeks and 3 days...WOW!!! We've passed the halfway point!!
