Week 10

I can't believe my little girl is already 10 weeks old!! Everyone says it goes fast but you don't really understand until you're in the middle of it. She is growing so fast...not just every day but every hour! She weighed 8'6" at the last pediatrician visit and is now close to 9 pounds. She is growing out of her newborn clothes and into her 0-3 month clothes. Her hair gets lighter after every bath and longer (and more out of control) everyday. We are trying to get better with sleeping and she shows me everyday that I no longer control my days. She loves to play, read books, and sing songs (I do most of the reading and singing although she chimes in from time to time).

First Trip to PA

We took our first trip to PA this past weekend. It was a great time. Emilia got to meet her whole CRAZY family. Even though it was busy, it was fun!!

Nanny and Poppa were thrilled to welcome their tenth great grandchild!




Mammaw and Pappaw got some quality time with Emi.






Emilia spent some time with Grammi, and Grandpop was excited to see his first great grandchild!.





She got a full physical and clean bill of health from Aunt Janet!


Cody, Leyla, Aidan, and Joey got to meet their first cousin!

Weeks 6 & 7

I know I haven't blogged in a while. I got a virus on the laptop and it's still down. I've had to move to the dinosaur in the office so things move pretty slowly. So much has happened in the past couple of weeks. Emilia is getting bigger and bigger every day. We had to go the pediatrician about a week and half ago to have them check her belly button - just a little silver nitrate and we were good to go. However, she weighed in at a whopping 7 pounds 4 ounces while we were there. She's growing out of her newborn clothes (finally) and is getting ready to move to size 1 diapers!! Grammi came down to visit for a couple of days and we spent the time relaxing and playing.



Amanda came up from South Carolina for her baby shower thrown by her mother. Many of us were there representing CTC with our babies...Emi stole the show as usual.



This past weekend was extremely busy. We went the HP holiday party on Saturday. Thanks so much to Lu who came along and stayed with Emilia in the hotel room for the evening! We all went down to the party at the end of the night...where Emi stole the show again!! Then on Sunday we were invited to see the Caps game from a luxury box - never say "No" to that. The game was pretty loud and we had an obnoxious whistler in the box with us, but beggers can't be choosers and the game was still fun. Caps won!! We spent the Super Bowl relaxing at home since all of us were beat from the long weekend. This week Emilia and I are just chilling at home and trying to establish some sort of routine for eating and sleeping. She's doing very well and loves to play on her jungle mat. She's making so many sounds now. My favorite is when a tiny little "goo" comes all the way from her toes and shakes her whole body.

5 Weeks!!

So much has happened in a week. Brian gave Emi a bath for the first time, which she enjoyed but oh so cold getting out of the warm tub. She is smiling more and more everyday...a smile to melt your heart. Her expressions are more and more animated all the time and she is responding so much more now. She is enjoying her play time - even her tummy time if she is in the mood. This is her first favorite toy. She can't get enough of it and she even bats at it with her hands.

4 weeks old!!

Emi is already 4 weeks old!! I can't believe how big she has gotten! We saw the pediatrician this morning and she is gaining weight like a champion. She is now 6lb. 7 oz. and 19 3/4" long...OH MY!!! She also showed me her first social smile a couple of days ago and she is cooing all the time. Such a happy, healthy baby...so much to be thankful for!

Happy New Year!!

The Fish Family spent a nice New Year holiday at home. Matt, Amanda, Case, and Lauren all came over to ring in the new year. We had a great celebration well into New Year's Day. After a less-than-restful night we celebrated LJ's third birthday. He spent a cozy day taking advantage of his birthday boy status. We also celebrate Emi's 3-week birthday. Hard to believe it has already been 3 whole weeks!! Later in the day we went to the Hilton's to watch the Rose Bowl. Despite a disappointing loss to USC we had a great day!!
